2nd Birthday Party

I know this blog is LONG overdue, but I've been pretty swamped at work so here goes.

The party was originally scheduled early February. However, Noah got sick (again!) so we had to reschedule it. No biggie right? Eh, I wish it was that easy! Since we were headed out of town to Disney it was hard to reschedule it to fit everyone's schedules (oh yeah and throw Mardi Gras in there as well!). The date was finally set but then my sister had sick kiddos with the swine flu so they couldn't make it.

The party though was so much fun! We had a pirate theme, ARRR and almost everyone came dressed up for the occasion. Captain Hook even came to do a puppet show. It was really a great party! Next year will be tough to beat that's for sure.

The Birthday boys favorite present was his roller coaster, he just absolutely loved it!

Spring Pictures

A few weekends ago Noah had some Spring pictures taken at City Park. They came out fantastic! They are perfect and they show his personality. Check it out!

Shhhhh...

Bedtime isn't the easiest time of day at our house. Noah is pretty unpredictable in his sleeping habits. He still can randomly wake up screaming at any hour for no apparent reason. There are days where I still feel like a newborn walking zombie momma and other days I feel like I have a teenager repeatedly telling him to wake up.

On Saturday night it really hit me that Noah is growing up. We did our normal bedtime routine. He had a bath, brushed his teeth, put his bedtime lotion on and his jammies. There are nights when we have to read story after story for Noah to go to sleep. Some nights we even have to pretend that we are sleeping to get him to sleep and slowly creep out to not wake him up. Well that night he did nothing of the sort.

I placed him in bed and grabbed one of his many Dr. Seuss books. I began to read and he kept on going "shhhhhh" very softly. I thought he was trying to soothe himself but with every word he kept on going "shhhh". So, I stopped. He then said "shh mama, shhh".

I got up off the floor and turned his light off and he blows me a kiss and goes "night night mommy". Squee! I just about lost it. I came out and told Clint the story and he was just as taken back as I was (since this is nowhere near the norm). I wanted to cry, I wanted to just run in and give him a big hug. Where is my baby? :(

Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are?

I was reading Noah a book tonight before bed. It was Dr. Seuss' Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are?. I've never read this book before and just grabbed it from the stack before bed (we have the whole Dr. Seuss collection, Clint's godmother collected this for him throughout his childhood).

As I was reading the book I began to think of how lucky we are. One thing in particuar is that Noah has all of his living grandparents. Both of my grandfathers passed away before I have any memory of them. So, Noah having them all living is a great thing. I'm so happy he has so many people to love him.

My mom watches Noah every day. My dad doesn't go to work till around 11 so he sees his "Paw Paw" every day as well. I love how he is able to spend so much time with his grandparents. We are very lucky to have my parents watch Noah whie we are at work. What is even better is that Noah just adores them!

Hopefully in the next week I can blog about the many things we have done recently including Disney World and Noah's 2nd Birthday Party!

Please bare with me.
