RSV

This week has been a long and stressful one. For starters it was going back to work after having 2 weeks off. That in itself is super hard! I was so sad to leave Noah. However, I know he was going to have fun with Gigi and Abigail.

Monday and Tuesday were getting back in the groove. You know, adjusting to alarms again and the traffic. Tuesday was actually our 3rd year wedding anniversary. Awww. Clint gave me a sweet card, some roses and a new Vera Bradley bag. We were having a good night until I got sick. I had some sort of stomach bug. Ick. It wasn't fun and I was up most of the night. I had to take a sick day on Wednesday.

Thursday was Noah's first day back at "school" or cool as he calls it. I had a long day with interviews at work and didn't get home till almost 8. I didn't get to spend too much time with Noah but I did find it odd that he barely at dinner. That night he woke up screaming so we brought him into bed with us.

During the night I could tell he was hot. However, I was hot too. The heater was on and we had a our thick comforter out so I just figured he was hot like I was. Well, he wasn't. I had to be to at work for 6ish, so Clint got Noah ready for the day. He did say he had a fever of 102 but said he seemed fine.

My mom called me during the day saying Noah wouldn't eat (which is unusual) but seemed OK for the most part. It was a very busy and important day at work and it was super hard to even think of getting away. But, I decided to make an appt. for Noah on Saturday at the dr. Then, my mom said Noah was feeling warm again so I then made an appointment for that afternoon.

I then received a call saying Noah had 104! Eek! So, I immediately left work. I headed to my moms and we stripped him down and gave him a lukewarm bath per dr.'s orders. When I first got there Noah was pretty out of it. It was scary, I've never seen him like that.

Once we gave him the bath he totally changed. He was splashing and back to good ole Noah. I was even thinking "Oh he is fine now", I don't need to take him in. But, I took him anyway.

At the dr. he was acting MUCH better. Eating cookies and drinking his sippy and then all of a sudden he just gets limp and whiny. It was breaking my heart because I had no idea what was wrong. I was thinking swine flu or RSV. I was hoping NOT RSV due to the stories I've heard from other moms.

He was tested for both and he was positive for RSV. I was told to give him breathing treatments 2x a day. Last night he just mostly wanted to be held and he slept. He wouldn't eat and would barely drink. The night was LONG and restless. I felt so bad for him. This is the worst part of being a mom...not being able to make him better.

This morning started waking up around 5:45...joy! He would actually drink so that was good. His fever was still high and he had some breakfast. Most of the time he is just sleeping, but I have to watch him like a hawk. His breathing is very very very quick. It is nerve racking! His fever is back up to 104. So for now, I'm just monitoring his fever and his breathing. Clint is out getting movies since we will be in all day and tomorrow. Keep Noah in your prayers!
