Perfect Patient

Everything went fine. Ahh! What a sigh of relief. I'm not going to lie. I totally lost it at the hospital. I was totally fine until I had to leave him for surgery. I don't know what came over me but I became a blubbery momma! Just seeing him leave in someone elses arms killed me. Eek!

Anyway, when we got there they had this cute car to put kiddos in. Noah loved it, we pushed him all over! We were in the pre-op area for maybe a half hour. We spoke to the anesthesia resident and my doc and one of my residents came by to talk to us about the procedure.

Then they gave Noah some meds to make him feel more at ease. This part was hilarious. It was like drunk baby Noah! If we just said words certain ways he would crack up. He couldn't sit up straight without trying to fall over! Hehe, it was very funny.

The surgery maybe lasted 15 minutes and I could see him immediately after. I was expecting Noah to be hysterically crying for about a half hour or so. I was told this was to be expected. We were even asked to be part of a research study for this but I declined. It had minimal risks so I skipped it.

Anyway, I got back there and Noah was still sleeping in his crib. When he woke up he didn't yell/scream/fuss. I just picked him up and we cuddled. The nurse got him some drink and he chugged down a whole sippy and then a half of another. He was super thirsty. All the babies in the post-op room were screaming their heads off and Noah was just super chill. The nurse said he was her best patient ever! Wowza!

After being in the post-op area for about 15 minutes we were given instructions to leave and that was it. How easy was that? Noah was so good we even went out to breakfast. He was perfectly fine! Clint even went back to work and Noah and I went out shopping with my mom.

I couldn't get over how easy this was. Noah is such a trooper and is becoming such a big boy!
